The head of my sonic toothbrush broke. I thought I was really careful in selecting this product. It arrived after some delay. There are three brush heads in a package. I opened one and discovered it did not fit my toothbrush, although all the material (including what was printed on the product packaging) said it would. I called the vendor, who told me to send an email, which I did. His response was that he sympathized with my situation, but that he had sent what I had ordered. So, no returns, no refunds. The brushes look good and solid. If you are absolutely certain that these heads will fit, go ahead. Otherwise, you might do well to simply order a replacement toothbrush, which is what I did. Brushing your teeth with Sonicare takes a while to get used to -- seems the motor in the thing must have been built by Briggs and Stratton. After a week or so, you do get used to it, and shortly after that you get almost addicted to the sensation. The intense power of the thing translates into excellent teeth cleaning ability, so, the answer is "yes" to the fundamental question of "does it work?".

My only gripe, as you might have surmised from my review title, is the brush and the replacement heads are pricey. Almost too pricey in my opinion. So while I admittedly like Sonicare, I can't be sure I'll run out and buy another one when it dies out on me.

Finally, a tip: I recommend getting the compact (vs. full sized) heads, as they enable you to reach and clean the nether regions of your mouth.

I have been using my Oral B powerbrush for over 5 years so i've been through many bristle/head packages.

The units shipped by this merchant have all the signs of being counterfeit:
* the 'indicator bristles' should gradually lose their blue color over time... THEY DON'T
* 3 out of 5 heads stopped oscillating after 2 weeks... they should last 3 months
* the brush heads also failed to produce the 3D action
* my gums started bleeding while using these brushes... that never happened before and stopped after i stopped using
* the brushheads pinched the inside of my mouth, which never happens with the genuine ones

the first tell-tale sign was that the merchant included two packs of 4 brushes instead of the 6-pack listed... while the packaging is made to imitate the genuine product packaging, the actual brushes don't measure up (and may actually do harm to your gums)

my recommendation: STAY AWAY FROM THIS PRODUCT AND MERCHANT (Mr. Bargain)
(even if the merchant is well intentioned, they are reselling counterfeit merchandise)

We bought our first set of Sonicare in 2003 which lasted 7(seven) years. Last year we bought two more new ones for my two daughters and they love it. This year we replaced our two with the new ones since the battery on the old ones were no good after seven years of charging. This year I also bought one for my four year old who loves it and regularly brushes his teeth after dinner. Feels all grown up that he has his own Sonicair just like mom dad and elder sisters.

Never had any problems other then the ones I bought for my daughters last year which they replaced after six months without any problem.
